WRITER ACTRESS
WORLD BUILDER

Nina Rubesa is a multi-disciplinary writer and performer. Her work experiments with how to get a visceral reaction from the audience, often offering a confronting experience with heaps of comedy to relieve the tension. Her debut sold-out one-woman play Dreamers was described as ‘an emotional rollercoaster’ and her bold debut short film (shot in one consecutive 25-minute take) was described as ‘emotional gore’.

Nina refined her acting training with Anthony Meindl. She is a Soho Theatre Lab alumna and was paired with a BFI mentor off the back of her debut short film. Always experimenting, during lockdown Nina made 100 monologues for Instagram as a way to inject positivity onto people’s feeds. This summer she’s making her Ed Fringe debut with her new show You Can’t Say That.

Nina is currently documenting the journey of turning her debut play into an Emmy award-winning TV show on her podcast Day One which celebrates the creative process and the transformative power linked to pursuing ‘impossible’ dreams.

Nina spent 8 years working in the music industry, started two businesses and loves building 360 worlds around her IP. She writes about creative sovereignty and the future of building creative businesses at Dauntless Creators a community of 300+ artists from all disciplines.

She is also a certified hypnotist.
